WHAT IT DOES

CSR specializes in manufacturing state-of-the-art surgical robotics systems. In 2024, it achieved a significant milestone by securing approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for its “Sentire” Endoscopic Surgical System.

The new funding will be directed toward advancing commercialization, developing next-generation robotics, conducting clinical trials, obtaining regulatory clearances, and driving global adoption of cutting-edge robotic surgical solutions.

“Cornerstone Robotics has hit several key milestones over the last year, and we’re deeply appreciative of our shareholders’ trust and confidence,” said Samuel Au, founder and CEO of Cornerstone Robotics, in a statement.

“This funding validates our commitment to transforming surgical robotics innovation into real-world applications and underscores our dedication to long-term, sustainable growth.”

MARKET LANDSCAPE

The surgical robotics market is highly dynamic, with several companies pioneering advanced solutions:

  • Agilis Robotics focuses on miniaturized robotic systems for endoluminal surgery, particularly for early-stage gastrointestinal and urinary cancers. In 2024, the company completed a groundbreaking robot-assisted resection of a bladder tumor.

  • SS Innovations develops a wide array of surgical robotic products, including robotic systems, endosurgical instruments, and surgeon training platforms using mixed reality. The company recently performed two robotic cardiac tele surgeries within 48 hours.

  • DocRobo concentrates on creating advanced robotic surgical devices, featuring parallel surgical robotics, flexible robotic arms, machine vision technology, and automated surgical systems.
